Fravel murder trial of Winona’s Madeline Kingsbury starts next week
A year and a half after a Winona area woman was murdered, her ex-boyfriend is about to go on trial in southern Minnesota.
The Winona County judge in the Adam Fravel trial made rulings on what testimony can be used in court, for the trial that begins Monday in Mankato, Minn.
The case was moved to Blue Earth County, because of heavy publicity in Winona. The trial is expected to last about three weeks.
Fravel is accused of killing Madeline Kingsbury in early 2023. Kingsbury’s remains were found in Fillmore County in June of last year, weeks after she was reported missing.
During pre-trial proceedings this week, Winona County Judge Nancy Buytendorp ruled that some statements or information about Kingsbury, dealing with abuse and safety, will not be admitted.
Fravel, who was Kingsbury’s former boyfriend and had children together, is suspected of committing the crime in the Winona area, before disposing her body near Mabel, Minn.
Searches and public vigils were conducted during the two months when Kingsbury was reported missing.
