Three retired US House members from Wisconsin spoke Thursday to an audience in La Crosse on how the election system is secure and with little fraud.

Ron Kind, a Democrat who retired after 26 years representing the 3rd District, and two former Republican House members, Tom Petri and Reid Ribble, participated in the LeaderEthics Wisconsin discussion at the Pump House in downtown La Crosse.

Petri served almost 40 years in the House from eastern Wisconsin. He said voters have many chances to watch how elections are run.

“If there’s a question, if it’s a very close election for example, you’re entitled, if it’s within a narrow margin, to ask for a recount,” Petri told WIZM, adding that observers from both parties generally get to watch how the elections and vote-counting are conducted.

Kind also wants citizens to have faith in the process.

“One of the hallmarks of our democracy is not only to participate and get out and vote, but also to accept the results of those elections, and allow a peaceful transfer of power,” Kind said. “Because if we lose that ability as a country to do that, then our democracy’s really in peril.”

Kind specifically criticized former President Donald Trump for making accusations about election fraud.

Ribble noted the actual amount of fraud in U.S. elections is “remarkably tiny,” given the millions of votes cast in past elections.

He said you can “trust your neighbor,” who works at the polls, “generally a senior citizen, usually somebody very interested in conducting a fair election.”

La Crosse County clerk Ginny Dankmeyer represented election workers, as part of the panel. Dankmeyer says the most common type of election fraud is “people who are trying to vote twice.”

“They’re trying to vote absentee, from their cabin up north, and then they go to the polls and vote in person at the polls, said Dankmeyer. She said she knows of about 20 cases where that has happened in recent elections. The clerk says some poll workers have quit staffing elections because of threats from people who don’t trust the voting.

About 60 people attended the La Crosse event, sponsored by Leader-Ethics and by a group called Former Members of Congress, which sponsors similar programs around the country.

The fraud and deceit has been ongoing for years; much of it occurs before the voting even begins.

    Russian collusion
    Biden laptop
    etc.

All facilitated by activist media. Sound familiar WIZM?

Partisan political hack that he is, Ronald Kind use the occasion of this BiPartisan event to vilify President Trump. He launched into commentary about how awful Donald Trump is, a threat to democracy, you know, the same worn out Democrat talking points that get presidents shot. Confronted by a member of the audience told him to knock it off his partisanship, Kind suggested that Stacey Abrams and Hillary Clinton‘s refusal to accept election results was different because Donald Trump stole classified documents. The audience member pointed out that Joe Biden did this too, and Joe Biden had no authority since he was not president at the time. That silenced him at least with respect to his Trump arrangement syndrome. Sadly he didn’t mention anything about FEMA running out of money and being unable to help hurricane victims because they spent it all on illegal immigrants. kind is the very epitome of what’s wrong with our election system. He will fight for his team, no matter what without respect to objectivity or doing what’s right.
