Sparta man arrested for second time this year for alleged attacks on women

A 39-year-old Sparta man allegedly attacked a woman over the weekend and now faces attempted murder charges, according to police.

Andrew Nauman is accused of attempted homicide, aggravated battery and disorderly conduct.

He was arrested shortly after police were called to an address on Oak Street in Sparta, where the victim with serious injuries and flown to a trauma hospital. 

Nauman was arrested earlier this year and charged with strangulation for an another alleged attack against a different woman.

Nauman was given a $1 million cash bond in Monroe County court.

Police say more charges could be filed soon. Nauman is scheduled back in Monroe County court Oct. 21.

    Why was this man on the streets after being charged with strangulation in another attack on a different woman??? WHEN are these Judges going to take these violent crimes against women serious? SOMEONE is going to die because we let everyone off on plea bargains and release them with little to no bond. This judge for whatever reason allowed this man back on the street and NOW we have a woman FIGHTING for her LIFE!!!! ITS TIME TO CRACK DOWN ON VIOLENT CRIME!!!!!

    Andrew Nauman should never see the light of day again.
    The Judge should accompany him. Releasing a criminal like him
    Is very thoughtless and should be looked at as careless and reckless decisions made by our authorities.
