While the one and only local debate happened this week in La Crosse, the other debate happening in Wisconsin takes place Friday night.

From 7-8 p.m., WIZM will air the Wisconsin US Senate debate between Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Republican challenger Eric Hovde.

To listen, download the WIZM app or go online here. The debate can also be heard on the radio at 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). It will be recorded and posted later here.

The debate will be moderated by Jill Geisler, who is in the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame.

She holds the Bill Plante Chair in Leadership and Media Integrity at Loyola University Chicago. She’s from Wisconsin and was one of the first female news directors of a major market affiliate — running WITI-TV in Milwaukee. She moderated the WBAF debates in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2022.

The debate will be conducted by diverse teams of broadcasters from stations and communities across Wisconsin.

Those five have worked with a team of journalists making up the data team (below), to research issues important to voters, as well as to produce debate questions that elicit specific, meaningful answers from candidates.

During the debate, as members of the question team address the candidates, the data team will provide background, context, and resources to voters via digital and social platforms.

The data team will consist of:
