A national restaurant chain planning a new location at Valley View Mall has started advertising for workers, but it’s not known yet when the restaurant will be built.

Raising Cane’s is taking applications on its website for a restaurant leader and assistant leader, for a location planned at the former Macy’s property along Highway 16. However, the company tells us it does not have a tentative date yet for the local Cane’s to open.

The old Macy’s store, which was originally a Dayton’s when the mall opened in 1980, is also scheduled to have a Panda Express restaurant in the coming months.

Cane’s restaurants are scheduled to open in Eau Claire this December, and at Janesville in January. Some already operate in the Madison and Milwaukee areas.
