Testimony finished in Fravel murder case; closing arguments planned Wednesday
Jurors in the Adam Fravel murder trial in Minnesota have an extended weekend break before they start deliberations in Mankato.
Testimony at the trial ended on Friday, and Fravel decided not to take the stand himself. Closing arguments have been postponed until Wednesday, so the election is out of the way.
The trial for the Winona area man began with jury selection in early October. Fravel is accused of the 2023 death of his former girlfriend, Madeline Kingsbury. Prosecutors called dozens of witnesses over two weeks, while the defense presented its case in only three hours on Friday.
The case was moved out of Winona County because of extensive publicity. Kingsbury was reported missing in the spring of 2023, and her remains were found about two months later.
Jurors have been advised to pack a bag, in case there’s not a verdict by Wednesday night.

Per the news, the jury was not informed that this man was abusive. Men who batter have been known to kill their partners. This information is absolutely relevant. But the jury was denied this knowledge. This man may go free because the jury was not fully informed.
