Fravel jury begins deliberations in southern Minnesota murder case
The jury in Adam Fravel’s Minnesota murder trial has received the case, following closing arguments Wednesday in Mankato.
Fravel is accused of killing his former girlfriend, Madeline Kingsbury, in early 2023 and hiding her remains in the Winona area.
The trial, moved to Mankato because of extensive publicity around Winona, has lasted about three weeks.
The court advised jurors that they would be allowed to break for the night on Wednesday if they were not close to a verdict.
Kingsbury was reported missing in April of last year. Her family and community members in Winona conducted searches and vigils before her body was found in June of 2023. The defense in the trial suggests that prosecutors have focused too much on Fravel as a potential suspect.
