The jury in the Fravel trial announced the verdict Thursday morning in Mankato, Minn., where the trial was moved because of publicity in Winona County.

Fravel faces the possibility of life in prison. Minnesota state court officials told WIZM that Fravel’s sentencing will take place in Winona on Dec. 17.

Kingsbury’s remains were found in June of last year in the Mabel, Minn., area, several weeks after she was reported missing.

Fravel had been tried for three weeks in Blue Earth County. The jury began deliberations Wednesday night.

He was convicted on two counts each of first-degree and second-degree homicide.

Fravel was the father of Kingsbury’s two young children. She vanished after dropping them off at a Winona day care facility in March of 2023.

Winona County prosecutor Karin Sonneman said Fravel may receive life in prison with a possibility of release after 30 years.
