Still talking about that election

Before the election, I made a joke that the cable networks were so obsessed with counting down to the big day that, after the election, they would start counting how many days since we had voted.

I haven’t seen that yet, but I did see one cable anchor eager to tell us that it’s 16 days until Thanksgiving. Hasn’t somebody developed a vaccine against counting disease?

We’re still getting arguments about how many people voted. Last time, Joe Biden got 81 million votes, and the main claim by Donald Trump and his supporters was that vote total wasn’t possible. I don’t how much of that was Trump had 74 million, which was a new record for an incumbent, and nobody was going to take the record from him.

But now I’m seeing reports that Kamala Harris got only 60 million votes, which Republicans have decided is the maximum any Democrat is going to get. So, once again, Biden’s 81 million had to be a fake number. Keep in mind, the number that really counts is the Electoral College, and that vote takes place about 30 days from now, and counting.
