It took close to five hours Tuesday but La Crosse County supervisors worked out a budget for 2025.

The levy is about $38 million and spending for next year is slightly above $200 million.

Board members proposed many changes during the meeting.

One idea approved was to designate $250,000 in spending for the La Crosse Regional Airport, if it’s needed.

The extra spending is intended to partly compensate for the end of local service by Delta Airlines.

The board also voted to allocate $100,000 to the county ag society to upgrade facilities at the fairgrounds.

Like last year, there was also a request for county money to help pay for an Onalaska community center.

The request had been $100,000, but it was reduced to $20,000.
