Logan coach Casey Knoble joined WIZM’s La Crosse Talk this week to breakdown the matchup and talk about football coaching life, in general.

The Rangers’ offense has exploded in recent weeks, scoring 42 points each playoff win against Waupaca and Onalaska — winning a shootout last week at Medford 51-48.

Quarterback Bradley Check has accounted for more than 3,400 yards of offense and 48 touchdowns this season. He accounted for six touchdowns in last week’s Medford win.

Last week, Logan had to contend with the state’s leader rusher in Medford’s Paxton Rothmeier. This week, not much different.

The Rangers defense will have to focus on Christian Collins, who has rushed for 2,337 yards and 33 touchdowns. Tight end James Flanigan, who has committed to the University of Notre Dame after this season, is the main receiving threat with 532 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He’s the son of Jim Flanigan, a standout for the Irish, who was drafted by the Chicago Bears and played 10 seasons in the NFL — including a year in Green Bay.

I also act as the voice of local sports, doing play by play of high school and college football and basketball. When not working I enjoy golfing.
