Truck driver is returned to La Crosse to be charged with cutting another driver with a knife
A truck driver arrested in Tennessee last month has been brought back to Wisconsin, where he is now charged with attacking another driver with a knife at West Salem.
Paul Stokes appeared Tuesday in La Crosse County court on charges of reckless endangerment and substantial battery, for allegedly cutting the victim on the neck and chest, after being confronted for honking his horn at the other driver in a Kwik Trip parking lot. The victim notified police, took a picture of Stokes’ red truck, and Stokes was arrested in Tennessee the following day. Stokes’ address is listed as Fox Point, Wisconsin.
Police say the attack happened October 21st, outside the Kwik Trip on Mill Street in West Salem. The charges could lead to a possible 13-and-a-half years in prison, if Stokes is convicted on both counts.
Stokes is scheduled to be back in court again on Monday.
