A 40-year-old Onalaska woman faces up to 10 years in prison if she’s convicted of vehicular homicide for a fatal accident in that city.

Megan Urch appeared in court by video on Thursday.

Police in Onalaska said Urch was distracted while driving on Main Street back in September, and struck 83-year-old Darlene Wozney, who was crossing the street around noon.

Wozney died at a hospital. Urch reportedly was looking at her phone.

A $10,000 signature bond was approved by Judge Gloria Doyle for Urch, who has been in the county jail for over two months.

She’s scheduled for another pre-trial hearing on Dec. 5.
