The Wisconsin State Patrol says “driver error” is the reason a bus crashed through the side of a home around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday on State Street in Holmen.

The State Patrol said the driver will not be charged criminally, but will receive a traffic citation. It also found nothing wrong with the bus.

The State Patrol said the driver hit the curb, went through several yards, before hitting the house.

Holmen Police on Tuesday said in a statement the bus was headed north on 2nd Avenue and left the road “multiple times” before reaching State Street. There it went through the intersection before crashing into the house on the 300 block of State.

No children were on the bus, as it was headed out on its route. Two people were in the house.

One person in the house was inured. They had to be taken out the bedroom window and transported by ambulance, police said.
