An Arkansas man found guilty of providing a deadly dose of fentanyl to another man will have to wait until after the holidays to be sentenced in La Crosse County.

Foster

Twenty-six-year-old Lathan Foster reached a negotiated plea in October, on a drug charge related to the death of his friend Jeremy Pittman at a house in West Salem. Foster is jailed in La Crosse, and appeared in court for sentencing on Tuesday, but investigators are still working on a report that’s needed before Judge Elliott Levine can impose a sentence.

Jeremy Pittman died on New Year’s Eve of 2021. Pittman and Foster were both from Arkansas, and Foster was arrested earlier this year in that state and was brought to Wisconsin for this court case.
