As I See It, No Bowl Trip for Bucky

Today, we check out the sports page, for the college football version of March Madness. Should we call it December Delirium? People already think of it as Selection Sunday, when fans find out who makes the playoffs, and who else gets a bowl game. Wisconsin Badger fans have been frustrated for years, when the playoffs only took four teams, and somehow, Bucky was never quite good enough to make the cut.

This year, they’re finally starting the 12-team playoffs…and this had to be the season Wisconsin just couldn’t make it to six wins, to get any bowl bid at all. First time in a generation that the Badgers won’t get to a bowl. Every other state bordering Wisconsin has at least one team that’s bowl-bound. I was holding out hope, because Minnesota only needed 5 wins to get into a bowl last year. I’m not pushing for more bowl games, because we have so many already. But I’m just a bit disappointed. On the other hand, it’s also high school basketball season, and in Wisconsin, every school gets to play in the hoop tournaments. Just wondering when it will be the Badgers’ next turn for a big bowl game. Let’s hope it’s not too long.
