Informational meeting Tuesday ahead of La Crosse city council vote on parking deregulation
A change in off-street parking policy could be approved by the La Crosse city council Thursday.
The council could vote on whether to drop requirements that set aside a minimum number of parking spaces for residential buildings.
A city commission is holding an informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday about the parking rules. That meeting happens at the Nature Place in Myrick Park.
Members of the council have been invited to attend that meeting.
One argument for change is that off-street parking takes up land that could be used to provide more housing.

If parking lots make way for housing, where will all the new residents park? Sounds like a whole new set of problems.
