The Madeline Kingsbury murder case in Minnesota is expected to come to an end on Tuesday, with a sentencing in Winona for Kingsbury’s former boyfriend, Adam Fravel.

Last month, a jury in Mankato convicted Fravel of killing Kingsbury in early 2023. The Winona woman had been reported missing in April of last year, and after weeks of searches and investigation, Kingsbury’s remains were found in the Mabel area. The trial had been moved out of Winona County because of extensive publicity.

Much of the testimony in the case concerned Adam and Madeline’s relationship before Madeline disappeared. Witnesses claim Fravel became less supportive of Madeline and their young children, and made threats against her in the months before she died. Madeline’s father testified that she was a giving person, who didn’t get anything back from Fravel.

Madeline reportedly wanted to break up with Fravel last year, just before she disappeared. Her body was discovered in early June of 2023.
