LA CROSSE SNOW EMERGENCY: Alternate-side parking in effect Friday, Saturday midnight-6 a.m.
The city of La Crosse has declared a snow emergency.
So, traditional alternate-side parking from midnight-6 a.m. will be in effect Friday and Saturday mornings in the city of La Crosse — excluding downtown. A snow emergency lasts 48 hours though it can be called off at any point.
ALTERNATE-SIDE PARKING RULE
- (1) On odd-numbered days, vehicles shall only be parked, stopped or left standing on that side of the street having odd-numbered addresses
- (2) On even-numbered days, vehicles shall only be parked, stopped or left standing on that side of the street having even-numbered addresses.
Citation-wise, the first parking violation within a calendar year has no fine.
The second violation is $15, if paid within 10 days. That fine doubles after that through 45 days. It doubles again to $60 if not paid after 45 days.
