As I See It
Sin and evil are an undeniable part of the human condition
Between 2008 and 2021, 379 people have tragically died taking selfies.
That’s right, hundreds of lives lost in the pursuit of that perfect Instagram moment.
Now compare that to the number of kids killed in school shootings during that same time period.
According to the data, between 170 and 190 children have tragically lost their lives in school shootings over those 13 years.
We hear about school shootings constantly, as we should.
It’s a horrifying reality.
But it’s also a reminder to us that sin and evil are an undeniable part of the human condition.
No law, no regulation, no political agenda, and no political party can solve the root of these violent acts, which is our sinful nature.
This isn’t to downplay the tragedy in Madison, but to remind us of the power of perspective.
More laws have not been the answer in the past, and I doubt they will be in the future.
Addressing sin and recognizing evil will make a difference.

Well said.
The idiot politicians always feel the need after a senseless tragedy to say something, so they push “we need more background checks and stiffer guns laws.
NEWS FLASH, this girl in Madison was 15!!! According to the law she is not old enough to legally purchase a firearm. What would another gun law have done to prevent this tragedy?
We see this happen every day in Chicago where gang members are caught with a gun and they have a criminal record and yet they are turned back out on the street in a matter of hours.
Why are they not in jail?
Perhaps politicians should put their money where their mouth is and make a tough decision that can actually save lives. Install scanners in all schools, just like the airports and keep everyone safe.
Yep, it’s going to cost a lot of money but how much is a life worth? If it’s one of your family members I would guess it’s priceless.
Kicking the can down the road with talk every time this happens is insane.
Find another bloated government project that no taxpayer wants and let’s spend that money on our children’s safety. Can’t every democrat and republican finally agree 100% that saving lives in our schools should be a priority and not a political topic for discussion?
