Tomah man arrested, suspected of shooting 80-year-old father in head, shoulder

A 46-year-old Tomah man has been accused of attempted murder, after his father was shot and wounded on Tuesday morning.

Tomah police said Ryan Goad made comments about killing an elderly man.

Law enforcement went to the home of his father, 80-year-old Robert Goad, and found that he had been shot in the head and shoulder.

Robert Goad was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse for treatment, and had told police that his son shot him with a handgun.

Ryan Goad reportedly took his children to an address in Juneau County, where police found them safe.

Sheriff’s officers in Sauk County arrested Ryan Goad without incident later that morning.

Ryan Goad may be charged in Monroe County court soon with attempted homicide, reckless injury, and other counts resulting from the shooting of his father.
