La Crosse council president Kahlow declares for mayor; primary field up to 5 candidates

The president of the La Crosse city council, Chris Kahlow, is the latest person to enter the spring election for mayor.

Kahlow has become the fifth candidate to announce for the mayor’s race, to succeed retiring mayor Mitch Reynolds. She has headed the common council for the last two years.

Kahlow joins Shaundel Spivey, Ellie McLoone, Vicki Markussen, and Chris Stone on the list of declared candidates for the four-year term of mayor. January 7th is the filing deadline for the February primary and April elections.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
