La Crosse’s city council revoked the license of a downtown bar, where police have been sent repeatedly to check on disruptive behavior and underage drinking.

The unanimous vote Thursday at a special council meeting to take away the license of the Latino Bar on 5th Avenue follows hearings over two days by committees.

The owner of the bar, Marissa Acosta, told reporters that she believes racism was a factor in the complaints against her business. The Latino Bar has been operating in La Crosse for three years.

During this week’s hearings, police and other witnesses talked about trouble at the business, along with repeated complaints about serving alcohol to underage customers.

Acosta said she’s worried about what her 35 employees will do if the bar remains closed, and notes that employment at the Latino Bar is the main source of income for many of those workers.

La Crosse Police have said they were called to the bar more than 120 times since it opened in February 2022 and issued over 320 citations to patrons.

Always the race card. And these people wonder why people tire of them. She and her partner are criminals.

320 citations given for underage drinking.

This restaurant should have been shut down long ago and any other proprietor would have been. Hopefully no-one was injured by their actions.

There is obviously racism involved…reverse racism.
