A man from South Elgin, Illinois is awaiting charges after trying to run from a Trempealeau County deputy on Friday evening.

Just before 10 p.m., the deputy saw a vehicle speeding on I-94 near Osseo.

As he went to pull over the vehicle, it left the interstate and drove into Osseo.

The pursuit at faster speeds continued until the suspect drove into the parking lot of a business, lost control, and crashed into a parked semi-trailer.

The man, identified as Darnell P. Davis, was hurt in the crash. He was later taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A firearm was found inside the vehicle. Davis, who had active warrants for his arrest, is also a convicted felon.

After being released from the hospital, Davis went to the Trempealeau County Jail where he’s being held on several charges.
