Fourth OWI charge filed against Onalaska man for Highway 16 crash
A 44-year-old Onalaska man will be scheduled for trial on a fourth drunk-driving charge, resulting from an accident this month near Valley View Mall.
Pao Yang has entered a not guilty plea Monday before La Crosse County Judge Elliott Levine, in connection with a hit-and-run accident Feb. 14 on Highway 16 in Onalaska.
According to police testimony in court, Yang is accused of striking another vehicle on the highway while driving to Farm and Fleet.
He was tested by police, and had a blood alcohol level of .129.
Yang’s most recent OWI arrest before this was three years ago in La Crosse County.
Yang has been ordered not to drive, and not to use alcohol. His attorney has asked for a new judge to hear the case. Yang is expected back in court in early April.
