A 35-year-old La Crosse woman is awaiting a court hearing after she’s arrested Tuesday afternoon for what the Vernon County Sheriff said was her fifth OWI charge.

According to Sheriff Roy Torgerson, a report came into Vernon County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center around noon about a car driving erratically through Coon Valley.

A deputy and officer from the Westby Police Department pulled the woman over on Highway 14 between Westby and Viroqua by Sherpe Road.

Kelli Eileen Doughman was eventually taken into custody after questioning.

The sheriff said that she had a 2-year-old child in the vehicle.

The child was turned over to the Vernon County Department of Human Services.

Doughman is currently in the Vernon County Jail until a bail hearing.
