Wisconsin Gov. Evers in La Crosse discussing budget concerns with area leaders

Providing tax relief, while still trying to pay for government services, is a major task for Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers.
The governor included a roundtable meeting in La Crosse in his travels around the state Wednesday, leading budget discussions.
Evers said he wants to see people at all income levels benefit from the state’s spending policies.
“A lot of times, the people at the upper end get the best deal,” Evers told reporters. “I think the best deal for most people is lowering the costs that they can see every day.”
Area legislators — State Sen. Brad Pfaff (D-Onalaska), and Assembly Reps. Jill Billings (D-La Crosse) and Tara Johnson (D-Shelby) — also took part in the session at La Crosse’s Main Street Library, along with representatives of community groups.
The governor heard concerns about child care, housing and transportation during the roundtable. Evers said many people might not notice reductions in taxes they pay once a year.
“For most people, it isn’t a thing,” Evers said, “but if you’re lowering costs of everyday things like over-the-counter drugs, or you’re paying your bill for utilities,” and the state tax is removed from that, “that’s a big deal, you notice that.”
The governor traveled to La Crosse and other parts of the state with Wisconsin workforce development secretary Amy Pecachek.

Of course, the people on the top end get the best deals… We’re about to go through another spout of ‘trickle down economics’… When there’s more wealth standing behind Trump at his inauguration than 50% of the American population you know you have a problem. With that being said, read between the lines…

So the other 50% of the wealthy people in politics aren’t Democrats?
Only the Republicans are rich? Come On Man.
Perhaps we should embrace all the hard work our Governor is not doing to solve the homeless crisis in our state and more importantly changing the name of Mother to Inseminated Person.
What’s next? Outlawing latex balloons to save the environment instead of plastic bags which would make more sense and clean up our planet.
Oh wait………too late.

Why would rich ‘democrats’ want to increase corporate tax rates..? You saw them all flip flop the second they knew they needed to…? What kind of question is are only republicans rich…? Of course not.
The solution the GOP has proposed for the homeless crisis is to cut all services and to hope the problem solves itself.
The stuff that Ever’s is doing with changing wording is ridiculous. Politics isn’t black/white like you may think it is. You can have different views on different issues. You don’t have to align your views with every single thing the party does (SHOCKER)!

Does that mean May 11th is now Inseminated Person Day?
La Crosse’s previous mayor made Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples Day.
Now La Crosse kids play Cowboys and Indigenous People.

Gov Evers is Wisconsin’s version of Joe Biden; the guy can barely string together a sentence.
The Republicans offered a dozen different ways for Evers to cut taxes in the last budget, including elimination of state tax for retirees…Evers said “no” to every one.
“La Crosse leaders”?

Gov Evers is a real leader. When my unit came back from mobilization in Poland, he was right there waiting to welcome his guardsman back… Can you say the same for the draft dodging president… All the videos have been scrubbed of him stating ‘You think I’m an idiot, I wasn’t going to Vietnam’… Funny that his bone spurs magically healed after Vietnam was over. And yes, Bill Clinton was a draft dodger too!!!
Why should retirees be exempt from state income tax. I’d assume the majority of their income is a combination of SS + traditional 401k+IRA contributions. They would have never paid taxes in the first place on 401k+IRA contributions… So now you get to withdraw tax free too… At the same time, what happens if we don’t tax SS income…???
Nothing substantial has been added, just little *zingers* – can’t string together a sentence HUR HUR

It’s all in what you like. I guess. If I came back from active duty in Poland, Tony Evers is not the first person I’d care to see.
If you plan on taking on Walden here, better do your homework. He doesn’t vacillate like you.

The City of La Crosse spent over $700K of TARP funds on the unsheltered population, hired a homeless coordinator 5 years ago at $75K a year, tore up a city park to the tune of $200K.
Sounds like throwing lots of money at a problem with no end game in sight is a lot like hoping the problem will solve itself.
Show me something the left has done to help this country, and I will sing the praise.
Hiding Sleepy Joe for 4 years and yelling about Hitler does not seem to be an sustainable plan for success.
