Jackson County crash kills driver

One person is killed Thursday night in a one vehicle crash in Jackson County.

Capt. Evan Mazur with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said that it happened about 9:33 p.m. along County Highway T near Pine View Road in the Town of Garfield east of Osseo.

Deputies found that the driver was thrown from the vehicle when it crashed.

Witnesses told the deputies that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it missed a curve in the road.

The vehicle went into a ditch and hit some trees before stopping.

The sheriff’s office said that based on what they found at the scene, no one else was in the vehicle at the time.

The name of the driver isn’t being released pending notification of family.
