The Main Branch of the La Crosse Public Library is closing Friday for the day so crews can do some repair and replacement work.

Cole Zrostlik, the Outreach and Marketing Supervisor, said in a release they’re having new water gate valves installed in the main building. The release said it was necessary in order to comply with city regulations.

That means there won’t be any running water or restrooms available on Friday.

The work is supposed to last only one day, so the library is set to reopen for normal hours on Saturday, March 8.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the community’s understanding as we complete this important upgrade,” said Shanneon Grant, Director of the La Crosse Public Library in the statement. “We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.”

The library’s digital and online resources remain available 24/7 through the library’s website.
