WATCH: Vicki Markussen announces her endorsement of Chris Kahlow for La Crosse mayor

At a news conference Monday, La Crosse mayor candidate Chris Kahlow, and about 40 supporters, gathered at Riverside Park, as Vicki Markussen gave her endorsement of the city council president.
“Our next mayor needs to have experience, compassion,” Markussen said of Kahlow, “realize our potential as a city and to lead us in the overwhelming challenges — and ones we can overcome, as we face them together. That is why I am endorsing Chris Kahlow for mayor of La Crosse.”
In February, Markussen was 45 votes short of beating Kahlow in the mayor primary that Shaundel Washington-Spivey won. Four years ago, Markussen was the primary winner, but lost to current Mayor Mitch Reynolds by about 200 votes.
Kahlow and Washington-Spivey will take part in a debate at 6 p.m. Wednesday hosted by WIZM, at the Cleary Alumni Center on the UW-La Crosse campus. It will also stream on WIZM news. Find details by clicking here.
Kahlow was grateful for Markussen’s endorsement.
“I will also bring people together to solve tough problems,” Kahlow said. “And that is one reason Vicki’s endorsement is so meaningful. There will be times when Vicki and I disagree on issues and we still can and will work together for the greater good of this city. It is an honor to have earned Vicki’s support.”

Chris, please please please don’t dress like Kamala for 4 yrs. if you win the election. You could have tried to look Mayoral at the ‘rally’ at Riverside park. I’m so tired of looking at women who won’t try to dress a little classy while in office !

Shaundel Spivey Washington is drawing a HUGE $160,000+ annual salary from the non profit he runs. This is NOT right. Shaundel is a terrible choice.
