As I See It, a strange election season in this region

As I See It

Kind of a weird election season we’re having in Wisconsin, don’t you think?

One point of view I’ve heard is that the state Supreme Court has to have a conservative majority, because that’s how America voted in November, bringing Trump back to the White House.

Each side is saying, Save the Supreme Court, or preserve the court, because the court will be ruined if the wrong side wins in April.

I’ve also heard, Keep the Trump Train running, so you want a court that will agree with the president. But we elect every justice separately, to 10 year terms, and in most cases, the justice will outlast pretty much everyone who becomes president. One exception–when Rebecca Dallet joined the court in 2018, Donald Trump was president. When Dallet’s term expires, Trump is still supposed to be president. That’s not the usual way things happen.

And I saw a Mother Jones article with a photo of Elon Musk wearing sunglasses. The photo was altered to show the Wisconsin state flag in Musk’s glasses, but the flag is normal. If it was a real photo, the reflection of the flag would be backwards. Somebody wasn’t thinking logically.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.

I’m sorry but your ‘As I see it’ is just ‘your’ opinion but as always, you add a dig or two in everything you write, usually blasting conservatives. None of you who write WIZM stories or opinions are unbiased which is what the news used to be like. Everything is political these days & it’s rather sickening.
