UPDATE: Missing man located safe in Iowa

UPDATE: The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office said that Brian Walz, who was listed as a Missing Endangered Person, has been located safe in Iowa.

The sheriff’s office provided no other information other than to say he was found safe.


A Trempealeau County man who is the subject of a Missing Endangered Person Alert was last seen on the south side of La Crosse on Sunday morning.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office said that Brian Francis Walz, 51, of Whitehall, was seen at 7:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of South Avenue. That’s by All Abilities Trane Park.

They said Walz did not return while out on a pass with a family member in La Crosse. They also stated that Walz didn’t have his belongings or medications with him.

A description for Walz is that he is a white male, 6-feet-1 in height, and weighs 190 lbs.

He has gray hair and brown eyes.

Walz was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots.

Anyone with information on where Walz may be located is asked to call Deputy Julson at the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office at 715-538-4351.
