La Crosse declares a snow emergency

Published

La Crosse has declared a snow emergency after 7 inches of wet, heavy snow fell in some parts of our area on Wednesday.

The snow emergency goes into effect at midnight tonight and last until midnight on Saturday, March 22.

That means that alternate side parking is in effect.

People are required to park on the side of the road with the correct odd or even numbers.

A first-time offense for parking on the wrong side of the street is only a warning. Subsequent violations mean a $15 fine within a calendar year.

If the need comes up, the city can extend the snow emergency.

Finding out when a snow emergency is declared simply is signing up for text alerts or requesting email notices from the city.
