Off to Madison: Aquinas and C-FC Boys teams reach WIAA State Tournament

It’s a return trip to the Kohl Center for the Aquinas Blugolds as they reach the WIAA Division 4 State Boys Basketball Tournament.
The Blugolds got by Cumberland 69-56 to earn a trip to state for the second year in a row.
The team is scheduled to play in a semi-final game on Thursday night at approximately 8:15 p.m. against Mineral Point, who pulled off a dramatic come from behind win in a semi-final game at last year’s tournament. Early Thursday, the players and coaches were greeted by fans and a drumline as they left the high school to board a bus for Madison. Aquinas coach Brad Reinhart told WIZM News that stops would be made at the other local Catholic schools as the bus left La Crosse.

The Prairie School and Bonduel round out the Division 4 bracket.
The Cochrane-Fountain City Pirates also made the tourney with a 53-41 win over Royall at Logan High School on Saturday afternoon in a Division 5 Sectional Championship.
Their next game is on Friday morning at 9:05 a.m. against Turtle Lake.
Abundant Life Christian and Sheboygan Lutheran are also in the hunt for a state title.
