As I See It
Washington D.C.’s biggest museum, too woke for the White House?

If you’ve been to Washington, D.C., there’s a good chance you have spent some time at the Smithsonian. Institution, not Institute.
The museum known for its vast collection of objects from U.S. history and popular culture.
It has historic airplanes and space capsules, along with Dorothy’s ruby slippers, Fonzie’s leather jacket and Archie Bunker’s chair.
Practically something for everybody, and that seems to be a problem for the White House.
Just like the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian has been criticized by the president’s team as, apparently, a little too woke. Or some exhibits don’t reflect the way our current leaders want U.S. history to be seen.
I don’t recall complaints about the Smithsonian’s content in the recent past, and it takes a bit of chutzpah for one specific White House to decide what should be there and what should not.
The museum has plenty of buildings, and lots of storage space.
I wouldn’t bet on anything at the Smithsonian being removed from public view for very long. At least, I hope not.
As I see it, I’m Brad Williams.

The Smithsonian’s foray in to the Lefist ditch happened long ago; it was “woke” before anyone coined the term. Basically, the Smithsonian is another Progressive swamp entity that sees everything through the lense of racism, climate change, and other Progressive totems.
I once subscribed to the Smithsonian magazine but dropped it when it simply got too weirdly leftist. Its great Trump is taking steps to return it to is roots.

Likewise, Walden. I dropped the SI magazine and the National Geographic after many years and collecting all the issues. NG just turned preachy and opinionated about subjects unrelated to geography and was of little interest anymore.
The museum itself is certainly interesting and a great visit.

Nice try Eugene, neither the VA or La Crosse County has cancelled services.
Furthermore, there are no phone numbers on the DOGE (not DOG) website to leave voicemail.
Maybe if you call Tony Evers he can help you.
