Changes in La Crosse on April 1

As most of us know, April 1 is election day here in La Crosse and everywhere across the state.

There are also a couple of other things that open or change today.

The first is that the Trane All Abilities Park on the south side of la Crosse is now open for the season. The park is open daily from 9 am to 8 pm. It is designed for people who may have cognitive, sensory, or physical challenges.

La Crosse is also changing parking rates at its five downtown parking ramps. Parking is now one dollar per hour Monday through Saturday from 6 am to 10 pm with a maximum of $10 per day.

Parking is free after 10 pm-6 am and all day on Sundays.

This affects the five downtown ramps including Pine Street, Main Street Market Square, La Crosse Center, and Riverside.

And if you’re into fishing, today’s date means that you’ll need a new license to fish the state’s waters according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
