Six people are in the running to become the next Superintendent for the La Crescent School District.

The board announced the semi-finalists on Wednesday as well as its schedule of interviews as they look to come up with finalists for the position.

Current Superintendent Mindy Crowley said earlier this year that she is leaving in June.

Since then, the search process has come up with the six candidates to replace her.

They are:

Robert Lukens – Superintendent; Harvey Public Schools, Harvey, ND
Michelle Mortenson – Superintendent; Redfield Public Schools, Redfield, SD
Christopher Dibble – Principal; Albert Lea High School, Albert Lea, MN
Brandon Munson – District Administrator; North Crawford School District, Soldiers Grove, WI
Jeremy Hill – Principal; Willow Creek Elementary School, Riverton WY
Walter “Wally” Gnewikow – Principal; Logan High School, La Crosse, WI

The board said that the first round of candidate interviews takes place on Friday, April 4 from 5:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and continues on Monday, April 7 between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Families, district staff, and members of the community can attend these interviews and provide feedback at those times.

Following the interviews on Monday, the board is expected to select its finalists for another round of interviews.
