Captain Cory Westpfahl with the La Crosse Fire Department said they were called to the home at 1237 East Avenue South just after 11 p.m.

A neighbor called 911 after seeing the fire.

Flames were coming from the roof at the back of the home when firefighters arrived.

As crews began to extinguish the fire, others searched the home but found no one inside.
