A rural Readstown man had to be airlifted from the scene of a UTV crash Sunday afternoon in Vernon County.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office said it happened on private property in the Town of Kickapoo near Readstown.

The UTV driven by Chad Laverne Crook, 52, hit a fence. The UTV overturned throwing Crook from the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office said that he had serious injuries which led him to get picked up by GundersenAir and flown to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Members of the Readstown Emergency Medical Service, Readstown Volunteer Fire Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
