As I See It, Not Suitable for Kids at the theater, 2/10/25

If you’ve been to Washington, D.C., have you visited the Kennedy Center for the Arts on the Potomac? I’ve actually been to that impressive building, and seen a musical event there. We’ve just heard that the center has a new chairman of the board. His name…Donald Trump. I guess the president gets to appoint people to the board of directors, but can he appoint himself the chair? Trump just fired the previous Kennedy chairman, apparently for allowing the center to present drag shows, for children. I’ve heard about drag artists doing story-time at schools, which is strange, but Mr. Trump heard about such shows at the Kennedy and said “This will stop.” There are also complaints in D.C. about a Chinese ballet company performing there, and China is still Communist, so what’s that about? Will we see La Crosse City Hall be more closely watching what events come to the La Crosse Center? Stay tuned to find out whether more government business involves show business. I’m Brad Williams.
